LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University's Amy Halls was named Wednesday as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for her performance in The Rock's first two games of the season last week.

Halls, a junior from Westerville, Ohio, scored 11 goals in two games, including eight in the opening game of the season, to lead Slippery Rock to a 2-0 week with wins on the road at St. Andrew's Presbyterian and Converse.

In the first game of the season, at St. Andrew's, Halls scored eight goals and handed out two assists for a 10-point effort. Those eight goals lifted her to a new SRU school record for career scoring, giving her 116 goals and topping the previous record of 112, set by April Ennis (1988-90). Halls also picked up nine ground balls and recorded six draw controls in that game.

Halls followed that performance with a three goal, one assist effort in a 25-5 win at Converse. She added two draw controls, two caused turnovers and one ground ball in that win.

For the week, she scored 11 goals, handed out three assists, grabbed eight draw controls and picked up 10 ground balls.

The PSAC Player of the Week was awarded Wednesday this week, but will be awarded each Tuesday the rest of the year. Only games played through the previous Sunday count for consideration.

The Rock dropped a 13-10 decision to No. 8 Gannon last night and will travel to No. 7 Mercyhurst Thursday for a 4 p.m. game. SRU will then travel to No. 6 West Chester Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
