SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Taylor Throckmorton fueled an eighth-place finish for Allegheny men's track and field at the season-opening PLNU Multi-Team Scoring Meet hosted by Point Loma University. Throckmorton authored the only individual event win for the Blue and Gold while the 4x800-meter relay broke the tape with a commanding 18-second victory.
Throckmorton was fabulous in his spring debut. He secured a comfortable win in the long jump with a personal record of 22'5” while proving just as effective on the track where he logged third-place finishes in the 100-meter dash (11.19) and 200m (22.27).
Fresh off their sensational national championship run in the DMR,
Tony Dipre and
Andrew Mahone provided the first two legs in the Gators' winning 4x800m. The team ran a modest 7:57.90, although with little competition after the fast start, Allegheny was able to cruise on the back end as Matt Brush and
Mike Vlah anchored the winning effort.
All four runners returned to run in the open 1500m. Although there were 40 competitors in the race, the Blue and Gold dominated the race by supplying one quarter of the field. Dipre led the contingent with a second-place finish (3:55.71) while Mahone delivered a great run en route to sixth (3:39.49). Also seeing action were:
Ryan Sullivan (4:08.56), Matt Brush (4:09.51),

Mike Vlah (4:13.61),
Patrick McLaughlin (4:16.51),
