SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team dropped a 21-6 decision to No. 2 Lock Haven Tuesday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

With the loss, Slippery Rock drops to 4-4 overall and 2-4 in PSAC play. The Rock has now faced all four of the PSAC teams currently ranked in the top-10 in the national rankings. Lock Haven remains unbeaten at 8-0 overall and 5-0 in league play.

All six SRU goals came from different players. Amy Halls, Casey Quinn and Allison Richards all tallied one goal and one assist to lead the way.

Emma VanDenburg, Lauren Laubach and Ariel Knox all added a goal, while Dakota McCoy added one assist to cap The Rock scorers.

Lock Haven was led by Allison Berger with five goals and four assists. Jamie Uzialko added four goals and three assists and Kayleigh Johnson chipped in two goals and four assists.

Heather Sacko earned the win in goal, allowing four goals and recording three saves in the first half. Nicole Necci played the final 23 minutes and did not face a shot.

Kat Elkins made 12 saves in the losing effort for SRU.

Lock Haven finished the game with advantages of 44-11 in total shots, 26-15 in ground balls and 16-13 in draw controls.

Slippery Rock scored the first goal of the game following a Lock Haven turnover after the opening draw control. Quinn found Halls in front of the net and she buried a high shot to open the game's scoring.

Lock Haven answered back with a three goal run to take a 3-1 lead with just under 20 minutes to play in the first half.

SRU stopped the run when Laubach scored off an assist from Halls at the 19:01 mark to cut the LHU lead to 4-2.

The Lady Eagles answered back with a two-goal run to push the lead out to 5-2 with 13:35 to play. The teams traded goals to make the score 6-4 with 12:15 to play before the visitors ripped off a 4-0 run over the next five minutes to take a 10-4 lead with 7:14 to play before the break.

Neither team would tally another goal in the half. Lock Haven finished the first 30 minutes with a 24-8 advantage in total shots.

The Lady Eagles opened the second half with a 5-0 run to cap a 9-0 run that began late in the first half, pushing the score out to 15-4 with just under 21 minutes to play. With the game then in a running clock situation, Slippery Rock could not recover from the deficit down the stretch.

The Rock will travel to Seton Hill Thursday for a non-conference match at 6:30 p.m. before returning home to host Shepherd Saturday at noon.
