CLARION, Pa. – Unplayable field conditions at the Clarion University baseball field forced the postponement of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division doubleheader between the hosting Golden Eagles and Slippery Rock University scheduled for Saturday.
The twinbill was rescheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday in Clarion, but may wind up being played at Jack Critchfield Park in Slippery Rock if Clarion's field remains unplayable.
The postponement of Saturday's game until Sunday forced the postponement of Sunday's scheduled doubleheader between SRU and Shepherd (W. Va.) University. Those games may be rescheduled later in the season, Rock head coach
Jeff Messer said.
The Rock and Clarion split a pair of games last Friday at Critchfield Park. Clarion won the first game by a 9-1 score before The Rock rebounded to take the second game by a 12-2 score.
SRU leads the PSAC-West standings with a 4-2 division record and is 15-9 overall, while Clarion is 4-15 overall and 2-2 in PSAC-West action.
