MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Junior Jessica Yates and sophomore Sara Wagner finished 1-2 in the heptathlon on Sunday with lifetime PRs to wrap up the weekend for the Shippensburg women's outdoor track and field team at the Millersville Metrics.

Yates finished atop the eight-person field with 3,848 points while Wagner finished second by totaling 3,823 points. Freshman Maeghan Sondermann finished seventh with a score of 3,201 points.

The second day of the multis competition put Yates atop the field. Three solid performances on Sunday – including top marks in the long jump (16 feet 3 inches) and the javelin (102 feet 5 inches) – helped Yates establish her PR and rank fourth in the conference. Last year, Yates posted a season-best of 3,708 points.

Wagner was the leader after the first day of competition with four solid outings. She ran the 100-meter hurdles in 16.67 seconds and the 200 in 28.28 seconds while clearing 4 feet 10 inches in the high jump. Wagner now ranks fifth in the PSAC and well surpassed her previous PR of 3,480 points set last season.

Sondermann currently slots 12th in the conference. Her best performances this weekend included a 100-meter hurdle time of 17.08 seconds and an 800-meter time of 2:41.74.
