PRINCETON, N.J. – The Shippensburg men's outdoor track and field squad achieved three NCAA provisional qualifying marks and several season PRs on Saturday at the Larry Ellis Invitational from Princeton University – including a rousing run by the 4x100-meter relay squad.

Running for the first time as a quartet this season – freshman Jon Eisemann, senior Kevin Marshall, freshman Herman Kirkland and sophomore Romarr Mayne won the event against a solid field with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 41.33 seconds. SU is just the second school in the conference to break 42 seconds in the event this season.

In the field, Kirkland hit his best mark of the season in the long jump with a NCAA provisional qualifier of 24 feet, 7 ¼ inches to win the event. He is now third in the conference behind sophomore teammate Cody DeBoer and IUP national champion Nafee Harris.

Back on the track, sophomore Marcus Line satisfied the NCAA provisional qualifying standard in the 400-meter hurdles for a third time this season – his time on Saturday of 53.57 seconds is a season PR. Junior Tyrek Nelson also recorded a season PR in the event with a time of 55.65 seconds.

Sophomore Tom Troxell and freshman Dan Dreeman continue to run well in the 800. Troxell narrowly missed the NCAA provisional qualifying standard but won the event with a season PR of 1:52.89. Dreeman finished ninth in 1:54.45 – also a season PR.

Troxell also joined the 4x400-meter relay squad this week and helped that unit post its fastest time of the season. Troxell, Nelson, Line and junior Eric Wolfe posted a time of 3:19.25 that is an improvement of more than a second from the previous season best at the Millersville Metrics. Line's split was timed at 49.1 seconds.

Among the many other notable performers include sophomore Kyle Dickinson, who recorded a season PR of 22 feet 2 ½ inches in the long jump and a conference qualifier in the triple jump. Marshall picked up his conference qualifier in the 100-meter dash and sophomore Elijah Trusty got his conference qualifier in the triple jump.

Shippensburg will send a faction to the Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday before hosting the Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday from Seth Grove Stadium.
