Austin Strine obliterated his collegiate PR in the decathlon with a strong two-day performance at the 117th Penn Relays from Franklin Field, posting a score of 5,399 points to finish fourth in a five-person field.
Earlier this season, Strine posted a score of 4,177 points. After this week's effort, he now ranks 11th in the conference and should qualify for the PSAC Championships in May.
Strine's highest scoring event was the 400-meter dash in which he posted a time of 52.48 seconds. He also had success in the 110-meter hurdles (16.41 seconds), the 100-meter dash (11.85 seconds) and the high jump (6 feet).
