Jessica Yates had an outstanding two-day performance in the heptathlon at the 117th Penn Relays from Franklin Field, shattering her previous PR and finishing just 14 points of the school record. Yates totaled 4,151 points to finish seventh in an extremely talented 10-person field.
Yates set numerous PRs in her events to shatter her previous overall PR in the heptathlon – she totaled 3,848 points at the Millersville Metrics earlier this season. Among her highlights include a third-place finish in the high jump (5 feet 3 ¾ inches), fourth-place finishes in the javelin (105 feet 11 inches) and the 800-meter run (2:33.17) and a fifth-place finish in the long jump (16 feet 1 ½ inches).
Sophomore
Sara Wagner finished eighth after totaling 3,837 points – an improvement of 14 points from her previous season PR at Millersville. Her best place was a third-place finish in the shot put (33 feet 6 inches). Her highest point total came in the 200, where she posted a time of 27.78 seconds.
