Day One Results

GRANTHAM, Pa. – The track and field team got their 2011 Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championship meet off to a great start as the 4x800 relay team of Kim Hummel, Danielle DiPietro, Krystal Swasey, and Caroline Vazzana broke the school record with a new time of 10:25.68, Thursday evening at Messiah College.

With their record time, the Lady Lions finished fifth in the event. The only person competing on Thursday was Mackenzie Miller as she competed in the first four events of the heptathlon. In the 100 meter hurdles, Miller finished 7th with a time 17.30 (563 pts). In the high jump she took second with a lead of 4-08.25 feet (544 pts). Miller then finished in sixth place in the shot put with her throw of 25-05.25 feet (383 pts). In the final event of the day, Miller took second in the 200 meter dash with time of 26.73 seconds (734 pts).

Track and Field will continue to compete in day two of the championship, which is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
