NEW ORLEANS –
For the second consecutive year, the Shippensburg University men's cross country/track and field program finished among the Top 15 in the USTFCCCA Division II Program of the Year standings. SU finished in ninth place in large part to its Top 10 national finishes in cross country and indoor track & field.

In 2010-11, Shippensburg finished seventh in cross country, ninth in indoor track & field and 43rd in outdoor track & field. SU had 10 All-American performances, including a national champion indoor DMR squad.

The NCAA Division II Program of the Year awards are presented annually to the most outstanding men's and women's cross country/track & field program. The awards honor the institution that achieves the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field seasons) based on its finish at the NCAA Division II Championships.

In order to be eligible for the award, teams must qualify for the NCAA Championships. Scoring is based on the team's finish at each NCAA Division II Championship in cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field (i.e. 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points, 31st = 31 points) with the lowest total score for all three championships combined determining the award recipient. Ties among schools split points for positions taken.
