EUGENE, Ore. - Junior women's outdoor track athlete
Neely Spence finished seventh in the 5,000 meters at the 2011 United States Track & Field Championships on Friday night from historic Hayward Field with a time of 15:27.72 – establishing a new PR by more than six seconds.
Spence's previous 5K PR was 15:33.83, which was set in April at the Mt. Sac Relays. That time established a new all-time Division II record. She was the only current collegiate runner among the 15 in competition on Friday night.
Current assistant coach
Mary Dell finished 29th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:23.82. Her PR remains 10:08.83, which was set earlier this year at Penn Relays.
