KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's cross country team placed its five lead runners among the Top 20 finishers on Saturday morning as it finished third as a team from Kutztown's Division II Challenge amidst a muddy course but with perfect weather conditions.
Senior
Stephen Schelander and junior
Matt Gillette ran very well and will be in great condition for SU's next big meet in two weeks. Schelander took third in 26:15 while Gillette was six seconds behind in fourth place.
Junior
Kristofer Kroeger continues to impress this season and is making a bid to be a regular Top 5 runner for the Raiders. Kroeger finished 14th in 27:13 while senior
Eric Evans was two spots and four seconds behind. Senior
Wade Miller placed 18th in 27:26. 28:54
Shippensburg will hit the ground running in two weeks at the prestigious Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University.
