Pennsbury Girls US#5 in Final National Cross Country Poll!

The National High School Coaches Association is proud to announce the first-ever NHSCA (National High School Coaches Association) National High School Large and Small School Team Champions. For the first time in the history of the sport of high school cross country a major national governing body awards official national championship status to high school cross country programs.

The criteria for large school and small school selection is as follows, schools with a total student body enrollment exceeding 400 students are eligible for the Large School National Championship with less than 400 eligible for the Small School National Championship. Winning programs will be recognized in the National High School Sports Hall of Fame Museum as Official National Champions. National Championship teams will be awarded their official national championship trophies by their respective high schools.

NHSCA SMALL SCHOOL NATIONAL CHAMPIONS The Small School National Championship is awarded to teams with a total student body less than 400-students. Two programs not only represented over 2-million high school students but competed for overall team national championships.
BOYS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS- Calvin Christian High School of Grandville, Michigan with a total enrollment 375 students claimed the MHSAA Lower-Peninsula Division 3 State Championship. After defeating all teams at the mid-season MSU Spartan Invitational Calvin went undefeated as the first-ever D3 school to claim top honors for the State of Michigan. Finishing ranked US#5 overall, Calvin Christian is awarded by the NHSCA Boys Small School National Team Champions. Calvin Head Coach Laurens TenKate is awarded NHSCA National Coach of the Year for High School Boys Cross Country. GIRLS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS- Tatnall High School of Wilmington, Delaware with a total enrollment 266 students claimed the 8th straight Delaware Division II State Team Championship. Tatnall competed against the top teams in the nation with victories over 20 of the top 25 national ranked teams. Finishing ranked US#3 overall, Tatnall is awarded by the NHSCA Girls Small School National Team Champions.Tatnall Head Coach Patrick Castagno is awarded NHSCA National Coach of the Year for High School Girls Cross Country. Two programs have stood above the rest with dominating victories over 20 of the top 25 nationally ranked teams. Selected as the first Official National High School Team Champions they set the bar of excellence for all high school cross country programs.

BOYS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS- Christian Brothers Academy of Lincroft, New Jersey has produced the finest boys cross country team in US history. No program in US history has won more than CBA. GIRLS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS- Fayetteville Manlius of Manlius, New York has been recognized unofficially the past 5-season as the best team in the nation. The NHSCA would like to recognize Fayetteville Manlius as the nations first-ever Official National High School Team Champion.
