Reading, Pa. (Jan. 17, 2012) - Freshman Melissa Fellenbaum (Mount Joy, Pa./Hempfield) was named the Middle Atlantic Conferences' Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday morning.  This is the first weekly conference honor for the Crusader Track & Field teams.

Fellenbaum won the pole vault with a jump of 3.70m at the Kutztown Invitational against a predominantly Division II field and she broke her own school record for the third straight meet.  She has the best mark in the MAC by 1.5' and the third best jump in NCAA Division III this season.  With her jumps so far this season, she has already passed last year's NCAA provisional mark.

Fellenbaum and the rest of the Crusader Track & Field team will return to action on Fri. Jan. 20th when they travel to the Collegeville Classic at Ursinus College.
