Fellenbaum Second At Thomson Invitational

Newark, De. (Jan. 28, 2012) – The Crusader Men's and Women's Track and Field teams were in action over the weekend at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Jan. 27 and the Thomson Invitation at Delaware University on Jan. 28.

On day one at the Muhlenberg Invitational Jazmyn Vega (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) led all Alvernia finishers with a fifth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 9.94m.  Other highlights from the women's side included Erin Verdon (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Regional) who placed tenth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.09 and Tina Streleckis (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) who finished sixth in the 800m run.

From the men's team at Muhlenberg, Dillon Emery (Locustdale, Pa./North Schuylkill) placed eighth in the shot put with a toss of 10.97m and Zadren Winns (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) finished sixth in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.37.

On the second day at the Thomson Invitational at the University of Delaware junior Melissa Fellenbaum (Mount Joy, Pa./Hempfield) led the way with a second place finish in the Pole Vault with a jump of 3.60m.  Amanda Searle (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) placed eighth in the Weight Throw with a toss of 12.02m.  Brandon Young (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) placed fourth in the Triple Jump and sixth in the Long Jump.
