Reading, Pa. (Mar. 23, 2012) - 15 Crusader student-athletes were named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon.  The Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level winter sport and posted a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.



The Crusader Women's Basketball team led the way with eight honorees; Katelyn Gill (State College, Pa./State College), Alisa Greco (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central), Kelsey Gill (State College, Pa./State College), Chelsea Gieringer (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley), Allie Toczylowski (Mantua, NJ/Clearview Regional), Melissa Giannotti (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing), CeCe Buzzard (Willow Street, Pa./Solanco) and Julie Hahn (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South.  The Women's Track and Field team had five honorees; Erin Stone (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs), Melissa Fellenbaum (Mount Joy, Pa./Hempfield), Erin Verdon (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Regional), Amanda Searle (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) and Bridget Verdel (Hamilton Square).  Earning the honor from the Men's Basketball team was David Sloan (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) who is majoring in Athletic Training, and honored from the Men's Track and Field team was Sport Management major Dillon Emery (Locustdale, Pa./North Schuylkill).
