PA Salute To Seniors: Megan Ross - Haverford Township

What was your most memorable race/competition?
The Delco relays my senior year when I hit 40' 3" in shot put.

Where did you face your biggest competition?
Either at indoor states or district 1 championships.

Out of all your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?
Breaking 3 school records my senior year for indoor and outdoor shot put and discus.

If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your athletic career in high school?
I would have done track all four years rather than 3 days freshman year, spring junior year, and spring and winter senior year.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to over come?
I had to get out of a fouling streak in the discus during the middle of my senior season. I came back to throw my best at the Delco championships.

What will you miss most?
My teammates and all the friends I have made during this past season.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?
Go to practice. Give it 110% all the time. Don't take no for an answer and don't let one bad mark get you down. Always try to beat your own bests.

How have your coaches influenced your performances and you life goals overall?
My coaches have given me support and all the tools and technique to achieve my goals. They have put up with my long workouts and always wanting to start right away. They set a great example for me and I could not ask for better coaches.

What are your college plans?
I am going to attend the Catholic university of America for a dual degree in architecture and civil engineering. I plan to continue throwing in college and can't wait to learn the hammer throw.

Shout outs?
I wanna give a shout out to all of my fellow Fords track members. These girls and guys have become part of my family and I will miss you all next year. Shout out to Fid and Matti for being awesome throw coaches and getting me to states senior year. Shout out to Jensen and Kee Kee. Love you all :)
