5/10 - Korich shows strength winning three events

Springfield-Montco's Mark Korich may run one event at States (in his competitor's dreams), or more. He showed a strength and range that should concern anyone he races, taking the 800 in 1:53.32, the 1600 in 4:20.4 and the 3200 in 9:37.76. He also anchored his 4x800 squad to a 7;59.0. Double winners included Robbie Hill, Wissahickon, in the 100 and 200; Gary Miller, Wissahickon, in the 400 and 300 Hurdles; Blake Taylor, Methacton, in the Long Jump and Triple Jump; and SteveTyson, Upper Merion, in the Shot Put and Discus. Wissahickon's Krista Simkins was dominant as usual, taking the 200 in 24.85, the 400 in 57.36, and the 300 Hurdles in 45.92.

Caitlin Klaas, Hatboro-Horsham, prepped for States with a 2:13.66 800 win. Teammate Janine Riccitook the 1600 and 3200. Chanel Williams, Plymouth-Whitemarsh, won the 200 and High Jump. Norristown's Renai Thompson captured the 100 Hurdles and 300 Hurdles. And Hatboro-Horsham's Lauren Fisher won the Shot Put and Discus. On the boys' side, Quakertown senior Adam Breischwon three events, the 800, 1600 and 3200; Deron Barrett, Cheltenham won the 100 and 200; and Leslie Mills, Hatboro-Horsham, took the 400 and 300 Hurdles. Norristown Triple Jumper MikeWhitehead went 46-07.50 for a win.
