2/8 - Frances Koons comes up just short for the distance triple at Gill Invite

 

Frances Koons, Allentown Central Catholic, tried for the distance triple and came up with two first and a second. She took the 800 in 2:27.56 and the 1600 in 5:21.37, but fell 19 seconds shy of catching Emily Kruger of Lampeter Strasburg in the 3000, going 10:46.25 to Kruger's 10:27.76. Kourtney Marquis, Pennsbury, cleared 11-00 in the Pole Vault to become the fourth PA girl over that height this season. New Jersey's SylviaGalarza, Millville, won the Shot Put with a toss of 40-10. Central Dauphin's JamalJames took over the top spot in the Long Jump with a leap of 22-08.75. In the High Jump, Reading's Frankie Graham cleared 6-04. The Shot Put for the guys was strong again, as Central Dauphin's Ryan Whiting went 58-04.50 to hold off Wyomissing's JonHart (52-09). Gonzaga (DC's) Douglas Dutch took both the 55 (6.65 Finals|6.57 Trials) and the 200 (23.23). Josh Fritz from Northwest Area, won the 800 in 2:03.36 and the 1600 in 4:32.56.
