How much difference does a month and a half make? In many cases, the answer is a lot.
Between mid-September's PIAA Foundation and early November's PIAA State Championships -- both held on Hershey's Parkview Course -- quite a bit can change
With the 13th edition of the PIAA Foundation Invitational (AKA pre-states) coming Saturday, we took a look at last year's results from both meets and figured out which girls and boys improved the most from the midseason invitational to the state meet and ranked them. Even with heavy rains making the course a muddy mess at states last year, plenty of athletes still saw significant time drops.
Keep these improvements in mind as you prepare to toe line at the PIAA Foundation Invitational. The experience on the difficult course can and will play a role in development of a runner. As many of the runners listed will show, serious time can be dropped in a month and half's time.
Check out the list to see who improved and by how much from Foundation to states last season.
