Dear Coaches The Slippery Rock University Track and Field program is pleased to announce the first annual Rock Relays “SRU High School Track and Field Invitational” on April 20, 2019. It is our goal to provide a highly competitive and professionally run meet, to all local teams wishing to gain experience at the D7 & D10-championship site. If you wish to attend, the “Rock Relays HS Invt” please read all-meet information carefully. Teams wishing to compete must e-mail Bill Jordan at William.Jordan@sru.edu to reserve their team’s entry no later than April 1, 2019. SRU Track may refuse entry to any team that misses the April 2nd, deadline. All entries must be submitted through the PA Milesplit on line entry system by 8:00pm, Tuesday April 16, 2019 For more information on how to enter using Milesplit, go to PA Milesplit Help Teams are allowed to enter three individuals and one relay per event. Please only enter actual times, heights or distances from this season or last season. Do not estimate your athlete’s ability, as this is not fare to other competitors. Convert all hand times to FAT by adding .24 when entering. Any incorrectly entered or inaccurate mark will be changed to, no time or no distance. Please double check your entries to ensure their accuracy. Absolutely no late entries will be accepted after the deadline. – Jan 15th Registration Opens on PA Milesplit – April 2nd Team Reservation Deadline – April 9th Volunteer Meet Worker Form: – April 16, 8:00pm Entries close on PA Milesplit – April 20th Rock Relays “SRU HS INVT” Medals will be awarded to the top three individuals and relays in each event. Only the top three individuals/ teams will stand on the awards podium. All awards will take place at the finish line end of the stadium. The winner of each event will have the honor of standing atop “The Rock” of Slippery Rock University. Team scoring will be based upon the top eight performances in each event. No classifications will be used for team or individual scoring, all athletes will compete together. The 2k Steeple Chase will be contested after the 200m dash to allow recovery time for those 200 runners also running the 4x400. Please, limit your entries to athletes approaching it as a serious event and make sure that your athletes are properly prepared for this competition. Meet officials reserve the right to disqualify and remove from the track any competitor who is jeopardizing their personal safety or the safety of others. The entry fee for the meet is 175 dollars per team (350 both genders) or 20 dollars for individuals. Checks should be made out to “Slippery Rock University Track and Field”. We will accept checks on the day of the meet but all payment is required before the start of competition.
