Athletes, Coaches and Parents

The 2012 UAGTCA Youth Invitational Track Meet is rapidly drawing closer and we are extremely excited about this years meet. We anticipate our largest participation field in the 6 year history of the meet. With the addition of the 2000 Meter Steeple Chase we feel that we have the most inclusive field of individual events offered by any Youth Invitational meet in the country. We will once again welcome our International friends from Barbados, Bermuda and Canada and as usual the UAGI offers an excellent opportunity to tune-up for the National meets or to just end the season on a very high note.

2011 will also see the UAGI Go Live for the very first time. The meet will be broadcast live over the Internet from the first gun and first award on Friday afternoon until the very last Relay race on Sunday. The UAGI holds nothing back our motto Youth Athletes are our only concern. If you have been here you know what were talking about if not you have not then you have no idea of what youre missing. Let your athletes receive their Customized UAGI medals on our infield viewing stand where they will be seen and recognized by the stadium crowd and not hustled off to some obscure location to be seen by just a few family & friends.

It is not too late. Visit us at www.uagtca.org/invitational.htm and get all the details on the meet. You dont have to travel hundreds and thousands of miles to attend a highly competitive, quality meet.

New for 2011: 2000 meter Steeple Chase for high school boys and girls

The 2010 UAGI in Review and the 2011 meet in preview
..

The 2010 UAGI in review

2010 marked the 5th anniversary of the United Age Group Track Coaches Association Youth Invitational. The UAGI as it has become known did not disappoint. The meet has settled into its new home at Widener University and the event went off without a hitch. Some new, great vendors joined us for the first time and the weather was equally as cooperative with temperatures in the high 80s all three days. The competition was at its usually high standard. The 37 new meet records might normally indicate that the existing records were soft but after you examine the new marks you quickly realize that the 2010 performances were just that great. The 2010 meet, in review, was everything that weve come to expect and more. Each of our international guests has already made arrangements to return next year. We say welcome and we are looking forward to an even more exciting meet in 2011.

A 2011 UAGI preview

The 2011 UAGI has some very nice additions and changes to keep things interesting for our participants and spectators. We have added the 2000 meter steeplechase for the Intermediate boys & girls as well as the Young men and women divisions. The addition of the steeple should complete the individual event list. The UAGI is now a one-stop shop for teams and athletes who are looking for a great tune-up before the National Junior Olympic meets. We have reduced the relay fee in order to encourage greater participation and we continue to work on lowering the hotel costs in the area. We will continue to improve our vending area so that athletes will have an area that is both fun and entertaining between their events.

If you missed 2010 be assured that 2011 will include all the best from past meets and the new feature mentioned above. We remain committed to a hosting a 1st class event for our youth and we look forward to another spectacular event in 2011.
