Oct 27: PODCASTS: Wellsboro and Shikellamy surprised and Lewisburg delivered in D4. Dallas' boys competed well in D2. Liberty swept individual titles and advanced two teams to states, Emmaus was Emmaus in D11. Henderson's Chris Aldrich and Carly Hamond caputured individual crowns and St. Basil held off Christopher Dock in D1. Oct 20: Winning streaks were preserved at the big Tri-State Coaches Association meet on October 28th at Cooper's Lake in Slippery Rock. Baldwin senior David Adley won his 6th invitational of the season, while Latrobe junior Natalie Bower captured her third straight Tri-States. Video interviews with both chams. Oct 13: Three videos, including the post- Manhattan interviews with Central Cambria's Carly Seymour, who set the 2.5 mile Van Cortlandt Park record of 13:56; her coach, Randy Wilson; and North Penn coach Ron Jaros after his boys' team ran the best team average of the day, 12:57.1, which happens to be the 2nd best of all time. Oct 6: There is something different this year about Vince McNally. He's hungrier than ever. Most of last year's U.S. champs are in college. But Coatesville is still Coatesville. Winners. A track power excels at cross, too. And it's good to get your #1 runners back. Just ask Unionville & Cardinal O'Hara. Sept 22: Holy Ghost Prep is a very small AAA school. And Central Cambria, Lewisburg and North East are AA. All four are using the pack to attack their large school competition, and winning. Plus, North East coach Ted Miller is going for his ninth state tltle. Sept 15: Carly Seymour is more fit, more rested and more confident than last year when she was 9th at Foot Lockers. But her team is right with her with big goals. Germantown Friends made some noise on the national scene with a near upset of the U.S. #1 team. They are both little schools with some big talent. Sept 8: Kara Millhouse breakthrough – Cumberland Valley is back – Chanelle Price uses cross for the 800 (but she has goals this season too) – Podcast interview with Vince McNally. Sept 1: Baldwin distance stars David Adley and T.J. Hobart – Meghan Lutz of Nazareth Academy – Mark Dennin of Boyertown.

The Final k: WKD 2: Kara Millhouse – Cumberland Valley – Chanelle Price Mark Dennin pulled out another impressive victory this week at the Centaur Invitational, winning by 43 seconds in 16:15.9. Germantown Friends, the state’s second ranked team, walked away with the boys relay title in the 4 x XC relay invitational in a winning time of 43:40. It took the girls race longer to unfold before West Chester Henderson emerged out on top in a winning time of 53:51 over the challenging course. Union City dominated the girls White Division at the Big Red Invitational, scoring 41 points to win by 84 points over Cranberry. Individually, Kacey Gibson, Neshannock, won by 1:03 in 18:40. In the boys Red Division North East won the team battle with 28 points, 55 points up on Quaker Valley. Johnathon McElwain, Riverside, won in 16:31 and Garrett Gray, Northeast, was 2nd in 16:39. Meghan Lutz won a very fast Mill Street Run, posting a time of 17:19 for 2.9 miles. Nick Bonaventure, Penncrest, won the boys race in 15:01 for 2.9 miles. In the girls race at the Central Bucks East Invitational it was a battle between Unionville and Perkiomen Valley up front with Unionville coming out on top 31-40. Christina Smith, Unionville, dominated this race, running a time of 19:05 to win by 1:05. On the boys side North Penn put 6 runners inside the top 12 to post a score of 33, beating CB West by 34 points. Individually, Tyler Jones, CB West, took first with a time of 15:40 and Zach Hoagland, North Penn, was second with a 15:53. In the girls group 1 team competition at the Gettysburg Invitational a very strong Northern squad took the win behind the 2-7-9 finish from Rachel Wong, Katie Meck, and Abby Wong. In the individual race senior Kara Millhouse rolled to victory in 18:42.37. For the boys group 1, Cumberland Valley displayed team strengh, putting all 5 scoring runners in the top 22 places to score 48 points and take victory. In the individual race senior Vince McNally put on quite a show, running away from the pack at 1.5 miles to win by 54 seconds in 15:20.32. At the Red, White, and Blue Classic Greater Latrobe squeaked by North Allegheny for a 125 to 127 win. Greater Latrobe was strong up front with a 1-6 finish, however, North Allegheny was able to get close with their impressive 46 second spread. In the individual race Greater Latrobe junior Natalie Bower ran to a winning time of 18:27. The boys 'A' race was a little less dramatic with North Allegheny placing 5 runners in the top 21 to take a 58-106 victory over Mount Lebanon. Individually, Baldwin senior David Adley makes an impressive statement with a 16 second margin of victory, running a time of 15:54.
