800 will be run indoors on a 160M track; 4 competitors at a time
Wilson High School will be offering a series of limited events meets this year. All athletes must wear a mask to compete unless the COVID policies change. Each athlete will be allowed one parent (vouchers at gate and they must pay $5.00 admission fee). Parents and coaches must also wear masks at all times. No food or drink will be sold oand only water will be allowed on the gym floor.
All competitors must enter high school through main gym entrance at the circle.
Limit of 24 male and 24 female shotputters and high jumpers. Distance events will be conducted outside and have an unlimited field but will be limited to four heats maximum with the fastest heat limited to 18 (or two heats limited if large field). First heat (slow heat) could be very large. All distance races will be hand-timed.Unfortunately we do not have a long enough straight-a-way on our indoor track to run the 55m so in order to at least give competitors an opportunity, we will be running the 55m and the 55m hurdles in a long hallway on mats. Only two will run at a time but you will be paired with someone similar in time to make it competitive. The fastest six will run again in a 3 heat final. All places will be based on time. F.A.T. will be used. There is no room for spectators in the sprints or in the long jump.
Athletes are encouraged to leave (if possible) when their event is over to help us stay within covid limits
Order of Events:
1:00 Girls HJ; Boys to Follow (approx. 3:30)(the jumping surface is the wooden gym floor so no spikes allowed (that includes spikes with spikes removed)
1:00 Boys SP; Girls to follow (approx. 3:30)
1:00 Girls 55m Hurdles; boys to follow (top six to finals)(on F.A.T. time)
2:30 Girls 55m Dash; boys to finals (top six to finals)(on F.A.T. time)
1:00 Girls 800; Boys to follow
2:15 Girls DMR; Boys to follow (1200, 400, 800, 1600)
All pits and implements will be sterilized before the meet and again between events.
