AA Girls | Central Cambria looks to win in new classification

D6-AA Girls Preseason Team Rankings

Central Cambria transitions to AA from A for this season, which will provide a big shake-up to D6. After winning the D6-A title last year, but losing to D6 rival Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy at the state meet, Central Cambria will be motivated entering 2016.

The Red Devils return six of seven from last year's team and they'll look to contend for a state title in AA with the defending champs, Villa Maria. Paige Wess, Sidney Gilkey, Emma Wess, Samantha Koss, McKenna Hayward, and Kacy McKeel will lead the way for a deep Central Cambria team with the potential for a special season.

Forest Hills may be the best challenger to Central Cambria. They return six of seven from their team that took second in the district last year. Leading the way is Emily Montag (above), who took 24th in the state last year. It'll take a big day for Forest Hills to knock off Central Cambria, but time will tell.

Somerset are the defending D6-AA champs, but they lost a number of key members from their team last year. Along with AA newcomer Penns Valley, they'll need to rebuild to be competitive with the top teams in the district this year.
