D4-AA Girls Preseason Team Rankings

Danville has won a District 4 title in each of the last seven years (whether in AAA or AA). That streak will come under a serious threat this year after Danville lost some critical pieces to its team from last year in Mackenzie Jones and Abby Foster.

The team that seems primed to break that streak is Mifflinburg. They lost just one of seven from last year's team and returns juniors Audrey MacPherson and Jillian Miller, who were second and fourth respectively in the district last year. They also have three sophomores, who burst onto the scene as freshman last year to make the team's top seven.

Danville has a way of making it all come together at the right time, though. Despite the loss of Jones and Foster, they have a solid group returning, led by sophomores Elaina Klinger and Marisa Maffei, who were 48th and 52nd in the state last year. They they add depth to make another run at a district title and a states berth?

Lewisburg loses last year's top runner, Allison Graham, but returns the other six. They have a solid group of returners, but they'll need to make a move up the pack to be competitive with Danville and Mifflinburg. Montoursville Area and Selinsgrove will also look to get in the mix with top teams.

It should be a good battle in D4-AA this year and it's definitely worth watching!
