AA Boys | Holy Ghost looks to overcome just missing states last year

D1-AA Boys Team Preseason Rankings

Holy Ghost Prep suffered a heartbreak last season, missing out on state qualifying spot by just four points to Bishop Shanahan. Shanahan has moved on to AAA, making Holy Ghost's path to Hershey a little less rough. They'll be heavily favored to represent D1 at states this time around.

HGP loses Patrick Donahue, a state qualifier in 2015, to graduation, but they return district champ Callahan Lennon. He and Sean Dixon two returning state qualifiers from last year and will lead the way. Mark Featherstone and Kevin Dineen will likely make up the next two.

Their biggest challenge should come from New Hope-Solebury, which moves over from Single-A where they were always one of the top teams (and a state team in 2015). They lose just one from a team last year that had a sub-one minute 1-5 gap. Chris Cammarata will lead the way for them. They have a strong group of runners, but it will be hard to take down Holy Ghost for that state spot.

Upper Perkiomen and Pope John Paul II will be among the teams looking to mix it up with the favorites.
