D3-A Girls - Team Breakdown

The Kutztown Area girls didn't have an individual inside the top ten at the District 3 Championships last year, but what it lacked in a frontrunner, it made up with depth to propel Kutztown to the win and a qualifying spot in the state meet.

Maria Marmarou led the way, and Robyn Hoch and Emma Workowski ran strong races to make up part of the team's 61 points to win the title. Those three, along with two others from the varsity team, return in hopes of another title and trip to Hershey.

York Catholic was second last year and earned that second state qualifying spot at Big Spring. Katelyn MacDougall was second individually as well last year. She's the top returner and will go for the win. After that, York Catholic returns four of its top seven. York Catholic even finished 19 points ahead of Kutztown at states. Expect a close race again for the title this time around.

Susquenita was third last year, but it returns six of seven from last year's team. It should be a contender as well, with a senior-heavy squad hungry to get to Hershey. Shay Strawser and Rochelle Myers will lead the way for this team.

Delone Catholic (led by Leanne Sneeringer), Linden Hall School (led by Ava and Ella Warfel), and Fairfield Area (led by Lyndsey Lytle) make up a group of teams that will look to get in the mix with the top teams this fall.
