D2-AAA Girls - Team Breakdown
- Class AAA Preseason Team Rankings
- State Qualifying Spots For Teams: 1
- 2016 Champion: Abington Heights (51 points)
Abington Heights proved to be the class of District 2 last fall in Class AAA, putting on a strong performance to take home the district title in its first season back in AAA after moving from AA.
Abington Heights will go for another D2 crown this fall, returning four girls from its top five that placed 17th in the state. In the front will be Katie Dammer, the reigning D2-AAA champ, who went on to place sixth at states. AH loses Alex Scheuermann to graduation, but will turn to the likes of Sarah Bath, Emma Marion, and Blanca Calvo to help in the repeat efforts.
Hazleton Area was second last year, missing out on a team state qualifying spot. It loses top girl in Mary Everdale, but returns five others from varsity. With some improvements, and if someone can breakout to provide a low stick, Hazleton could challenge AH for the top spot.
Delaware Valley, Wallenpaupack, and Pittston Area will all look to put themselves in the hunt as the fall progresses.
