Five of the top seven spots last season at the District 1 Class AA Championship went to Holy Ghost Prep, but unfortunately for the Firebirds, all five of those boys were seniors. HGP missed states in 2015, but returned to the top of D1 last season. Can it find some replacements to repeat?
If Holy Ghost can't rebuild for this season, who could challenge for the lone states spot for AA? Pope John Paul II took second last season and brings back five from its varsity team. John Schiele and Shane McKeon will look to get PJP into states as a team.
Upper Perkiomen loses its top two from last year, but it brings back returns the rest of its top seven. If some in that group can bridge the gap to PJP's top boys, look for Upper Perk to have a shot at the win. Octorara and New Hope-Solebury are also teams that could be in the mix, as this district seems like it wide open at this point.
