Individuals Breakdown: District 11 Boys

D11-AAA Boys - Individuals Breakdown

The field for the District 11 Class AAA title is wide open this season with a number of boys capable of taking home the district title.

The top returner from the district meet is Parkland's Sam Morgan (above). Morgan took third to the Pleasant Valley duo of Seth Slavin and Gabe Sullivan, who went 1-2 at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course. Morgan went 16:31, a career best, there and will look for a similar performance this season.

But Morgan will have plenty of worthy challengers. The next five returners from the district meet last year all finished within about 20 seconds of third place. The one to watch is Southern Lehigh's Thomas Matsumura. The rising senior helped the Spartans earn a berth in the state meet last year. He ran 4:23 this spring on the track, qualifying him for the state meet. He'll be a serious factor on a strong team this year. But it was Colin Cramer who was actually Southern Lehigh's top finisher at the state meet. He was 17th at districts. SL also brings back Corey Welsh and Raahi Klar-Chaudhuri from the top 20 in the district last season.

Riley Williamson of Parkland should be in the mix. He'll be a vital piece on the Parkland team this season and clocked some impressive performances last year as a sophomore. His teammate Nicholas Bower is also worth watching for. He clocked a sub-10 3200 meters this spring. Stroudsburg's Matt Bodon was tenth at districts last fall. He was 92nd at XC states and ran 4:30 for 1600 meters in the spring. Fellow Stroudsburg runner Zachary Landvik-Larsen and Dieruff's Joshua Santiago also return this season as state qualifiers from last season.
