Individuals Breakdown: District 6 Boys

D6-AA Boys - Individuals Breakdown

A freshman emerged onto the scene last year and shook things up in District 6 AA. Garrett Baublitz of Juniata made his presence felt last season. Baublitz won the freshmen race at Carlisle, then the JV race at Gettysburg before taking home the win at the District 6 Championships. Baublitz continued this success on the track, running 4:19 in the 1,600 meters. He had an off day at XC states last year, but look for Baublitz to do even more damage this fall as a sophomore.

The eight do return from D6-AA, however, and they'll be gunning to take down the reigning champion. Tyrone Area's Joe Kohler is one to watch. He took second in the district last season and will be hoping to get one place better this season. Tyrone's Zach Kohler was seventh last year and will hope to factor in again this season.

Forest Hills' Mitchell Chunta was third in the district, but he was actually the highest placed finisher from D6-AA at the state meet a week later, taking 91st overall. Chunta should be in the mix once again for a district title.

Central Cambria has some strong young talent. Ohm Vyas, a rising junior, took fourth in the district to lead his team last season. Along with rising sophomore Nate Kuntz and rising junior Duncan Lambie, the Red Devils should have a nice pack that could threaten the frontrunners in the district.

Bellefonte Area's Brett Pope is another one to watch out for this fall on the trails.
