Individuals Breakdown: District 1 Boys

D1-AA Boys - Individuals Breakdown

District 1 Class AA is getting a makeover this season. The top eight finishers from last year's district meet have graduated leaving a big void at the top of the classification. One of the most affected teams is Holy Ghost Prep, a perennial power, which will have quite a lot of rebuilding to do this season. But who will rise to the top this season?

Pope John Paul II's John Schiele was ninth last season, making him the top returner from the district meet. He'll look to convert that into a victory this season. His teammate Shane McKeon was 11th last year, just missing out on the final individual state qualifying spot. Those two will be motivated to work together to ensure spots in Hershey this season.

Upper Perkiomen's Cameron Junk will be one to watch. He was having a strong junior season before a stress fracture ended it early last fall. If healthy, Junk should be a factor again this season and could threaten for the individual title.

Holy Ghost's Burton Carbino is the lone returner from his squad's district-winning team from last year. He'll be relied on heavily if Prep wants to get back to Hershey as a team. New Hope-Solebury's Chris Cammarata will be looking to get back to the state meet. He missed it last year, but ran at Hershey his freshman and sophomore seasons.
