A Taylor Allderdice boy has won each of the last four District 8 individual titles. With the graduation of two-time D8 champ Tavonne Davis, a new champion from Allderdice will have to come forward. Isaiah Freeman of Allderdice is the top returner from last year, and will look to take the top spot this year.
Eli Anish (fourth) and Eric Rohrer (fifth) are also back this season for Allderdice after taking top five spots at districts last year.
But with the entrance of District 10 into District 8 this season, some new contenders for the title will come through. McDowell's Colton Martin is the top returner from last year's D10-AAA meet, taking fifth. Cathedral Prep's Kody Klein (sixth) and Matt Whaley (seventh) will also be worth watching for this year in D8 after strong finishers in D10 last year. McDowell's Ryan Sesler and Prep's Alex Chelton are also back from the top ten in D10. Devan Bailey of Prep ran 17:21 at the Red, White & Blue Classic last season and could be a factor this season.
Expect these boys to matchup well with the top Allderice boys and it should be a close race for the D8 title this year.
