Katie Dammer ran away with the D2-AAA title by a minute, 24 seconds, but with Dammer now graduated, we should expect the race for the top spot to be considerably closer this season.
Abby Marion of Abington Heights is the top returner from the district meet last year. The rising junior was fourth a year ago. Her AH teammate Hannah Hughes was eighth in the district last year, and she'll look to move up in the field this season.
Delaware Valley's Laina Bogusta was fifth at districts last year, while Katie Balay of Hazleton Area took sixth. Both girls return this season in what should be a very open race for the win in D2-AAA. Williamsport's Lydia Smith just missed out on state qualifying position last season. Smith, who ran 19:58 at Paul Short a year ago, will contend for the win this year.
