Carroll Returns, Grapevine And Lovejoy Get First Oregon Trip

A week after finishing second at the state meet, the Southlake Carroll girls scored 57 total points to squeak out a win at the Team Championships South Region. They were closely followed by the UIL 5A state champs Lucas Lovejoy who scored 60 points and Flower Mound who wasn't far behind with 70 points.

The Carroll girls netted the program's 15th qualification to Portland, Oregon for the chance to compete for a national championship. Lovejoy will make the program's first appearance in the national championship event. Flower Mound will have to wait to see if they're appointed for an at-large berth.

In 2005 and 2006, Carroll finished third overall at the championships and they netted Texas' best finish in 2012 when they were runner-up.
