Team Announcements

Competing in the Lavino Relays at Lawrenceville Prep the Council Rock South Men's 4x800m relay shattered a 5 year old school record and qualified for Indoor States. The quartet of Sam Garfield, Nick Leighton, Steve Kandetzke and Dan Dreeman finished in a time of 8:14.1. In other action Dan Beck and Anthony Baker turned in outstanding splits in the Distance Medley Relay.

The Council Rock South track team collected 8 medals in 5 events at Haverford College on Saturday, January 9th. Junior Ian McIntyre ran 23.88 to place second in the 200m event while classmate Kevin Caporiccio cleared 6 feet in the high jump for the silver medal. CR South continued its domination of the 800 meter event with a first place finish by Steve Kandetzke in a time of 2:04.70. Dan Dreeman, who has won the 800 meter in the last two meets, stepped up to the mile where he took a 4th place medal, running 4:41.65. Dan Dreeman posted an indoor PR of 2:00.73 in the 800m to close out 2009. In addition to giving him the second victory in this event, in as many tries, Dreeman qualified for States. Ian McIntyre stumbled through the turn but still managed to turn in 24.07, good enough for second in the 200m.

The Council Rock South Men's Track team opened the season with several outstanding performances. Kevin Caporiccio cleared 6-3 to claim victory over a field of 23 jumpers.
