Overall we had nine new state leaders over the past week! Joey Logue of Pennridge came close to breaking the 1:53 mark, settling for 1:53.06 to take the top spot in the 800 meter run. Wellington Zaza of Garnet Valley now leads the state in both hurdles after running 14.14 on Saturday at Haverford. 4x800 meter AAA champions Cumberland Valley ran 7:56.27 at Pan-Ram to take the state lead away from Lasalle. Cathedral Prep became the first boys team to break 43 seconds in the 4x100 meter relay, running 42.91 to hold the top spot.

In the field, John Yohman had a big throw over the weekend to put a huge gap between him and the rest of the state in the shot put. His throw of 61-5.75 is 5 feet better than the field! Bryan Pearson of Bangor Area is the top discus thrower with a mark of 191 feet even. He entered the season with the best mark for returning athletes in 2012. Tim Moses cleared 15 feet in the pole vault to kickoff his outdoor season. Malik Moffett of Cathedral Prep cleared 6-8 in the high jump to take the state lead loaded with 6-4 jumpers. Finally, Johnathon Jacoway of Sharon had a triple jump mark of 45-7.75 over the weekend to become the new leader in the event.
