MileSplit released the top 50 returning female runners in the Northeast region for the 2014 cross country season. Pennsylvania accounts for a over a quarter of that list. 13 top PA athletes grace the list that is led by Mady Clahane of Cumberland Valley. The junior has the 5th best 5000 meter time from the 2013 season. That came from the Carlisle Invitational with her winning time of 17:28. Indoor mile state record holder Brianna Schwartz sits at #11 on the list (17:42 at Foot Locker Northeast) and Kelsey Potts of Mount Lebanon sits at #17.
Rounding out the top five for PA on the list include Olivia Young of the AAA champions Unionville (#18), Class A state cross country champion and AA 3200 meter silver medalist Marianne Abdalah of Vincentian Academy.
