In case you haven't heard, there is a new state qualifying format for the 2014-15 indoor season.
In recent seasons, it you hit the qualifying mark, you were automatically in the state meet, no questions asked. This season, that has been replaced with an NCAA-like format. Each event will only take a certain amount of athletes/teams, and you have to make that cut to qualify for the state meet when the deadline hits (Saturday February 21 at 11:59pm).
Even though the PTFCA released qualifying guidelines (last year's auto standards), they do not guarantee qualification if you were to hit them.
So what we have decided to try out here at PennTrackXC is to release a new list of the last time or mark that would make the state meet if it were to take place today. We have listed every event with the number of athletes that will be accepted for the state meet, the banked track time, and the flat track time based on the PTFCA conversion system.
We will update this very list weekly, and we hope this list will help coaches and athletes get a better idea of what they will need to do to have a chance of going to Penn State on March 1 for states.
Disclaimer: This list does not account for any scratches. This is only a guide.
