Beltz took off on the hill, not to be caught.
And built a 40 meter lead by the mile.
Beltz extended her lead nearing 2.5.
Gwynedd's Kate Vernon was still near the front at this point. She did not finish (like many on this hot day.)
Beltz shook off four physical set-backs over the past year to triumph in the biggest race of her career.
Palisades' Christa Plummer took 2nd.
Lisa Giacometti led Dallas to the team title with her 6th place finish. 
Sisters Christine (left, FR), and Lynn (JR), went 9th and 8th, respectively, for St. Basil, which also received a medal performance from frosh Kathleen Davis, in 25th. St. Basil missed out on States by two points, finishing 2nd to Gwynedd-Mercy in District 1. But that still wouldn't have caught Dallas, which had just 49 points.
