Class A
One guy rules the Class A landscape in district 2 and that
is top ten state finisher Matt Murray of Dunmore. The reigning district
champion has never finished worse than 4th in his district and has
two state cross country medals to his name. He was 6th at states in
2014 and is currently the only sub 17 minute runner in the division (16:27 at
states).
Behind him, Elk Lake have a strong grip on the rest of the
district’s top ten list. Dakota Oswald, his brother Cody, Seth Owens, and
Hunter Watkins make up four of the next five places. Cody Oswald is the
reigning district 2 runner up and 51st place finisher from states.
Owens improved by 70 places from 2013 to 2014 at states (80th in
2014). Watkins ran for the injured Dakota Oswald and finished 84th
at states. Billy Legg of Holy Cross finished 5th at districts a year
ago and just missed breaking 18 minutes at Paul Short by 2 seconds.
