Suburban One Preview: Sub 15 minute run? A perfect score? A trio of title defenses?

SOL Continental

Will we sub a sub 15? Well, Jake Brophy was close last season at this very meet (15:08 to be exact), and with the dry course combined with comfortable temperatures, the Central Bucks East senior may try his chances to make it happen. It's the one thing on his resume he hasn't hit just yet. Connor McMenamin of Souderton and Rock Fortna of Central Bucks West will try to push him and cause an upset. Should they push hard enough, they may win or help the sub 15 performance happen. Meanwhile, CB West will be heavy favorites to keep their unbeaten season alive and repeat as league champs.

Speaking of CB West, Maddie Villalba will be going for her first cross country league title against the North Penn trio of Phoebe Clowser, Ariana Gardizy, and Olivia Dyer. Both of these teams will also be squaring off for the team title. North Penn will need support from their 4th and 5th, while CB West will look to keep their winning streak going after their Gettysburg Invite vicory.

SOL National

AAA state champions and top ranked Pennsbury will be favored to not only win, but to earn a perfect score. Olivia Sargent will be favored to hold on to her individual title, while the team might be able to put the first seven finishers in front of the rest of the field.

The boys race will be much more competitive. Council Rock North will look to become team champions against William Tennent and Pennsbury. Council Rock North's pack may be too tough for the other teams to overcome. Individually, Bensalem's Rahi Shah has had a solid season and will square off against Rusty Kujdych of Neshaminy for the individual gold.

SOL American

Lotte Black of Wissahickon will look to defend her individual crown and earn her 2nd win of the season, her first since the opening day. Out to spoil the party will be Maria Antoni of Upper Moreland and Sarah Smith of Upper Dublin. After winning the Tennent Invite, Upper Dublin girls will be favored to bring home the team title.

In the boys race, Lukas Marcelis of Wissahickon will also face a title defense and will be favored to accomplish that feat. His efforts will also go a long way in determining a team champion against Cheltenham and Upper Dublin.
