Brophy talks second place finish at Foot Locker Northeast

Central Bucks East senior Jake Brophy is headed to San Diego for the second time in two years. Brophy ran 15:27, ten seconds faster than his time on the Van Cortlandt Park 5K course a year ago. In 2014, he was fifth and entered the race as the top returner. After winning his second straight PIAA AAA state championship in XC, Brophy said his goal was to go for the win at FLNE. New York's Noah Affolder beat him out for the top spot, but Brophy still qualified for nationals, making him the lone PA boy to qualify.

Brophy, who is headed to Navy next fall, will race Saturday at Foot Locker Nationals. We spoke with Jake on Saturday after FLNE. Watch his full post-race interview from Van Cortlandt Park below.
