On Wednesday at the Philly Public League Champ Qualifiers, Swenson junior Anthonia Ballard won the 100 and 300 hurdles. Swenson sophs Shanae bailey and Vanessa Mack took the 100 and 200, respecitvely. E&S's Jenna Arnold and teammate Terence Lee captured the distance double. Robeson places three in the top four of the 800. Gratz's Khaliff Featherstone (400) and Frank Wainwright (110-300H) took two legs of the winning 4x400. Joella Neilson, Girls' High, won the long and triple jumps.

5/1 32nd Trojan Track Classic @ Wissahickon HS

On Thursday at the Trojan Track Classic at Wissahickon, Folarin Ijelu leapt a PA#1 (US#17) triple jump pf 48-3.5. North Penn cruised to a 4x800 7:54.24, with Norristown in 2nd at 7:57./01. Nick Crits used his home track to set a school record of 9:15.62 for 3200. Hatboro-Horsham's Steve Topper took both hurdles. Gwynedd Mercy's Taylor Bumpas ran a season best 2:13.77 800.

5/1 Ken Montgomery Memorial Meet @ Upper Moreland HS

Tim Malloy, Neshaminy, had a successful day, winning the 300 hurdles in 40.40, the 110 hurdles in 14.73, the high jump with a leap of 6-04, and the triple jump with a leap of 43-08. Teammate Kevin Steinberg won the 100 dash in 11.08 and the 200 dash in 21.77. Council Rock South star Ije Iheoma completed the same double, winning the 100 in 12.47 and the 200 in 24.98. Megan Lutz, Nazareth, won the 1600 with a time of 5:03.42.


5/2 35th Boathouse Sports Baldwin Invitational @ Baldwin HS

Five PA #1's! The Penn Hills girls captured a WPIAL record with their 47.38 4x100. Cambrya Jones, Woodland Hills, won the 100 in 11.92(PA#1), and the 200 in 25.23. Natalie Bower, Latrobe, won the 1600 in 4:56.76 and the 3200 in 10:55.22. Lauren Zarger, Harbor Creek, was 2nd to Natalie in the 1600, 5:01.05, and the 3200, 10:55.27. Baldwin teammates T.J. Hobart and David Adley were 1-2 in the 1600 with times of 4:16.24 (PA#1) and 4:16.63. Hobart also won the 800 with a time of 1:56.12. Sam Havko, Fairview, was 2nd in 1:57.6. Shelby Haitz, Norwin, won the girls 800 in 2:13.44 and Erin Lopresti, Seneca Valley, was 2nd in 2:15.34. Shannon Abraham, Norwin, won the 400 in 57.45 and Jordan Lee, Penn Hills, was 2nd in 57.78. Matt Bellery, Montour, won the 100 dash in 10.94 and Tristan Stagger, Central Catholic, won the 200 in 22.41. Dan Kwiatkowski, McDowell, launched the shot 63-00.50 for the win (PA#1). Kwiatkowski would finish 4th in a strong discus competiton with a throw of 160-05. He was passed as PA#2 by Connellsville junior Rodney Richter, who threw 173-00. Penn Relays champ, and current PA#1 Matt Kann, was 2nd at 172-9, while Baldwin's Drew Hofbauer threw 166-10. Connor Barrett, Seneca Valley, won the high jump with a leap of 6-08. Baldwin put together a nice 4x800, running a time of 7:52.86. Leah Presnar, McDowell, won the long jump in 18-01.50 and Jessica Ferrick, Fort LeBoeuf, was just behind with a leap of 18-01. The 300 hurdles was a hot race with Nick Spino, Jeannette, winning in 38.82. Eric Kasnick, Upper St. Clair, was 2nd in 38.89 and Tyree Bennett, Bradford, was 3rd in 39.51. Penn Hills boys won the 4x100 in 42.75. Kelly Monteleone, Penn Hills, won the triple jump in 39-01 (PA#1). Kristy Woods, Grove City, won the shot put in 45-00.

Brian Fulton, Malvern Prep, ran a very fast 800, winning in 1:52.77. Council Rock North's Joe Capecci was 2nd in 1:54.59. Max Kaulbach, Germantown Friends, won a loaded 2 mile with a time of 9:02.35. Doug Smith, Gill St. Bernard, was 2nd in 9:06.82. Mark Dennin, Boyertown Area, was 3rd in 9:14.85. Chris Aldrich, West Chester Henderson, was 4th in 9:18.03. The long jump was also hotly contested as Carlton Lavong, Methacton, leapt 23-01.00 for the win. Matthew Cannell, Daniel Boone, was 2nd in 23-00.50, and Douglas Moppert, Malvern Prep, was 3rd in 22-06.50. Kwabena Keene, Washington, won the shot put in 58-09.00 and Eric Brittingham, Methacton, won the javelin in 201-10. Norristown area took the 4x400 in a swift time of 3:22.18.

In the National Division, Glen Mills went 42.0 in the 4x100 to win with a PA#1 time. Kevin Wilbank, Ridley, won the 200 with a time of 21.2 to break a 1985 record of 21.51 set by Leroy Burrell, Penn Wood. He also won the 100 with a time of 10.6. In the American Division Kevin Eckel, Carroll, won the 100 in 10.8 and the 200 in 21.7. Anthony Batch, Penncrest, won the 400 in 48.4, was 2nd in the 200 with a 22.2, and was on Penncrests 4x100, 43.3 and 4x400, 3:23.8.

Friday was a huge day in west, east and central PA. At the West Central Coaches Meet at Mantion Mark, Altoona, stars started their farewells on prep careers and stars introducted themselves. Carly Seymour, Central Cambria, won the 1600 and 3200, nearly matching her meet recosrd times. Younger sister Kelsey ran a statement 800. Senior Kristen Brandt, (Photo to right) Central Mountain, ripped wins in the long and triple, the latter with four leaps over 38'. Frosh Chloe Schmidt, State College, boasted anchors of 2:13 and 58 to go with a 57.34 400. Alex Kenney, a State College sophomore, won the 100 and 200 in record times, with Altoona junior Aaron Nadolsky just behind in both. Nadolsky did anchor the PA#1 4x100. Altoona senior Travis Hammakeer set a meet, stadium and school record with his 15-7 pole vault after AA friend and competitor D.J. Horton, Kane, cleared 15-3 in AA, with a near miss as 15-7. Indian's Dan Dandrowicz won the long and triples in AAA. In AAA, Jordan Donaldson, Tussey Mountain, had a49.24-1:56.68 night. And Merceersburg Academy's James Finucane challenged a Dave Mock 3200 record with his 9:22.28, while the 2nd place finisher in that race, Jim Spisak, Bishop McCort, challenged a Mock record in the 1600, going 4:18.30.

Milton Hershey boys and girls won both the 400 meter relays and the 800 meter sprint medleys. Milton Hershey girls won the 400 meter relay in 49.9 and the sprint medley in 1:52. Milton Hershey boys won the 400 meter relay in 43.8 and the sprint medley in 1:35.9, which is a PA #1 time in the event. Andre Dubose, Lampeter-Strasburg, tied PA#2 with a 6-7 high jump. Penn Manor's Jocelyn Witmer matched her season-best 12-0 pole vault. Ephrata's Katie Ream cleared 5-4 in the high jump, tie for PA#7. And Alie Girvin, Penn Manor, threw the discus a PA#8 133-2.



5/3 Cedar Cliff Relays @ Cedar Cliff HS

Northern ran a fast time to win the girls DMR, running 12:13.5 for the distance. Cedar Crest won the boys 4x400 with a time of 3:21.4. McCaskey won the 4x200 with a time of 1:29.9. Anna Muzio, Central Dauphin, put the shot 42-6, PA#3, and the discus 127-11, PA#8. Cedar Crest's Mark Manno threw the discus a PA#7 161-8. Central Dauphin East's Travis Nye threw a PA#9 160-11.



5/3 James Cross Wilkes Barre Invitational @ James M. Coughlin HS

Shelly Black, Coughlin, finished 1st in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.6 and the 300 hurdles with a time of 46.6. Justin Virbitsky, Lakeland, won the discus with a toss of 161-01. Mandissa Marshall, Crestwood, won the pole vault with a height of 12-01, taking over the PA #2 spot.



5/3 Lady Rocker Invitational @ Council Rock North HS

Alex Geiger, William Tennent, won the 100 hurdles in 15.93 and the 300 hurdles in 46.81. Ije Iheoma, Council Rock South, won the mile with a time of 5:04.93. Colleen Gilmore, St. Basil, won the 800 with a time of 2:17.44.

An all-North Penn top 3 in the 800 began with Zack Montijo winning with a time of 1:56.54, Justin Bookheimer following closely in 1:56.98, and Brian Quintrell finishing 3rd in 1:58.76. Bookheimer also ran the 300 hurdles, winning with a time of 39.6. Kenyetta Givens, Penn Wood, won the 100 hurdles in 15.71 and the 300 hurdles in 46.07. Kaleena Gray, Coatesville, won the shot put with a PA #3 throw of 42-05.
