Miami sophomore Dominique Darden (Harrisburg), Georgia senior Hyleas Fountain (Central Dauphin East), and Auburn frosh Patrick Philbin (Cedar Cliff) competed last weekend in Gainesville for their respective nationally ranked university teams at the Gator Invitational at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Darden, an All-American at 14th ranked University of Miami, placed 6th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.43. Darden also placed 9th in the 55 meter hurdles with a 7.92 performance.
Fountain competes for the 12th ranked University of Georgia. The All-American placed first among women college performers in the long jump with a personal best and NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 21-01 1/4. Fountain is from Enola She also finished fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in 7.76 seconds.
Philbin, running his first SEC indoor season for 2nd Ranked Auburn University, placed 13th in the 3000 meter race with a time of 8:44.33.
