Hempfield (7) junior Amber Valimont was 11th in the Division 1 Varsity race, going 22:20 on the extremely muddy course. In the Division 2 Varsity, Pine-Richland senior Emily Wobb was 6th in 21:14.8. Hopewell senior Lindsay Erath was 13th in 22:15.7, and Pine-Richland's Emily Reinhart took 17th.

The Spence name is back again at Shippensburg this year with twins Reynah and Margeaux launching their high school careers with a great start.  Reynah (#380 in photo by Timothy O'Dowd) finished 2nd in the race behind Mechanicsburg junior Sarah Sulon, 20:44.94 to 21:29.68.  Jess Howard (#368 in photo by Timothy O'Dowd) , Shippensburg, was 3rd in 21:50.14.  Margeaux (#379 in photo by Timothy O'Dowd) was 8th in 22:38.82.  Shippensburg took the team title with 3 runners in the top-8 and 5 in the top-30.  With a 58 point total they were well ahead of Central Dauphin, 112 points. 

In the boys race Matt Nesmith, Mechanicsburg, won with a time of 17:38.35.  Nathaniel Huff, Central Dauphin, finished 2nd in 17:45.05.  Teammate Ed Schrom finished 3rd in 17:45.46.  Conestoga Valley won a tight race over Central Dauphin, 100 to 107.

Behind the 2nd place 16:05 by Masterman's Rubin Himpton, the Philadelphia Public League squad won the Chestnut Hill Academy Invitational with 38 points to better 2nd place Haverford School by 19. Masterman place four in the top 10 in the seven team field. Dustin Wilson defended his home course in 15:41.8, and setting a course record by just over three seconds. The recorsd had been held by Springfield (Monto)'s Matt Gillen.

Cochranton's girls placed three in the top 12 and tallied 93 points to beat Titusville by 15 and Maplewood by 16. Haley Hughes led the team with a 4th place 22:15. Saint John and Paul's Brittany DiMare (Ohio) won in 21:39. The Cranberry boys were 11 better than Mercyhurst Prep behind the 3rd place run of 18:46 by Kaleb Lalley. Cochranton's Ryan Haylett won in 18:23.

Leah Ann Wirfel, Forest Hills, won convincingly with a time of 18:45.  Hannah Miller, Laurel Valley, finished 2nd in 19:57.  Kendall Seymour finished 3rd in 20:07.  Central Cambria looked solid in dominating the team race with a score of 32 points over Somerset, 88 points.  Central Cambria put 4 in the top 7 and 5 in the top 14 of the race.  

Jim Spisak, Bishop McCort, ran solo to a solid win with a time of 16:07.  Teammate Andy Luksik was 2nd with a time of 17:13.  Saint Mary's Cody Foster was 3rd in 17:22.  St. Mary's won the team race with 100 points over Bishop McCort, 118 points.

Palmyra and Cedar Crest were tied at 43 apiece after each team's first five had crossed the finish line, but Palmyra's 6th won the meet on the tie-breaker. Eastern Lebanon County's Kayleigh Perry captured individual honors with her 19:32. The Cedar Crest boys placedfive in the top 11 and easily won with just 26 points behind the 17:00 win by Brent Balmer.

In the boys race Nate Tallada, Saegertown, won with a time of 17:19.70.  Orion Bernard, Oswayo, finished 2nd in 17:25.15.  Saegertown won the team title with 4 runners in the top 13, scoring 60 points.  McDowell finished 2nd with a score of 77 points. 

In the girls race Brittany Kaltenbaugh, Fort LeBoeuf, controlled the front of the race with a win in 19:45.95.  Allison Gibbens, Seneca, finished 2nd in 20:25.45.  Fort LeBoeuf got 4 runners in the top 8 to take the team win with a score of 40 points.  Seneca finished 2nd with 69 points.

On a reportedly sloppy and muddy course Lauren Zarger (Right in photo by Carl Strub), Harbor Creek, ran the fastest time of the day from the AA race, winning with a time of 19:08.  Rebecca Reichbaum, Union City, finished 2nd in 20:05.  Union City won the team race with 32 points over General McLane, 84 points.  Quaker Valley was 3rd with 121 points.

In the AAA girls race Elaina Balouris, Hampton, won in 19:17.  Jean Bujdos, Indiana, finished 2nd in 19:32.  North Allegheny took the team win with 88 points.  Mount Lebanon was 2nd with 133 points.  Knoch was 3rd with 151 points.

In the AA boys race John Yankello, Quaker Valley, won with a time of 16:48.  Bryan Baumgartner, General McLane, finished 2nd in 16:51.  Andrew Lucarini, Fort Cherry, was 3rd in 16:54.  Quaker Valley won the team race with 38 points.  General McLane was 2nd with 59 points.  Riverview was 3rd with 117 points. 

In the AAA boys race Rad Gunzenhauser (In photo by Carl Strub), Mount Lebanon, finished 1st with a time of 16:46, the fastest of the day.  Chase Broussard, North Allegheny, finished 2nd in 16:50.  Jacob Kildoo, Grove City, was 3rd in 16:53.  North Allegheny won the team race with 44 points.  Mount Lebanon was 2nd with 67 and Butler was 3rd with 211.

Tamaqua swept the team competition with 39 points. Amber Carroll led her team to the win with a course record of 19:58. She was joined by her four scoring teammates in the top 13. Philip Christman was the top Tamaqua guy and meet titleist with a course record 19:10. Their 32 points came quickly, with five in the 13.

Sophia Zieman, Lewisburg, continues to tear up the turf, winning with a time of 18:24 over teammate Kiah Hardcastle, 18:53.  Emma Shank, Hershey, finished 3rd in a time of 19:29.  Governor Mifflin squeezed 5 runners inside the top 30 to take a surprise win over Lewisburg 84 to 107.

In the boys race Sam Havko, Fairview, won by 24 seconds with a time of 16:02.  Reece Ayers, Tunkhannock, finished 2nd with a time of 16:26.  Peter Frien, Scranton Prep, finished 3rd in 16:40.  Rush-Henrietta won the team race with a score of 84 points.  Scranton Prep was 2nd with 107 points.
