In a rare Sunday meet, there were some big performances put down at Urisnus College's Bears Invitational.
The Carlisle boys put on a show, running a pair of state-leading relays, one of which was a US#1. The Carlisle 4x800, comprised of Noah Affolder, Sam Affolder, Isaac Kole and Jack Wisner, ran 8:01.19, good enough for a PA#1 and US#4. Noah Affolder split 1:57, while Sam Affolder, Isaac Kole, and Jack Wisner all split 2:00 (with some hundredths thrown in there). Noah Affolder also took first in the 800 meters in 1:54.72, a PA#2 and US#6.
The after a busy day, the Herd took first in the distance medley relay, running a US#1 of 10:21.45. Noah Affolder added a 4:14 1600 meter split to help Carlisle take over the nation-lead. It's a big sign of things to come for Carlisle, and we'll see if they can make a run at the state record and national record in the event.

In girls' action, Germantown Academy's Abbe Goldstein continued her terrific indoor season with another big win. Goldstein, a Harvard recruit, ran a PA#1 and US#4 9:48.75 in the 3000 meters to run away with the win and state lead.
Perkiomen Valley's Christina Warren won three events on the day, taking the 55-meter hurdles (8.26), long jump (18-4), and triple jump (37-7.75). That 18-4 in the long jump is an indoor PR and moves Warren to the PA#2 slot.
Palisades' Alexa Parks kept rolling in her first indoor season. The senior, who is ranked second in the nation, cleared 5-7, just off her season best of 5-8, to take the win in the high jump.
Kyle Garland of Germantown Academy claimed wins in the the 55-meter hurdles and the long jump. Garland jumped an indoor PR of 21-10.5 in the long jump to finish first with a PA#4.
