D11-AAA Girls - Individuals Breakdown

Last fall saw Stroudsburg's Amy Conboy go from a solid runner to one of the state's best. And while she'll be without two of her star teammates from last year---two-time D11 champ Allana Powlette and Michelle Joyce---who graduated, the team is fully Conboy's to lead and she seems poised to do just that.

Conboy, a rising junior, took third in the district last fall and earned a state medal, placing 15th at Hershey. At Paul Short, Conboy ran a PR of 18:14. Look for her to creep closer to that sub-18 barrier in what should be a very exciting season.

There are a number of other girls gunning for the upset this fall in AAA. Abby Dalton of Emmaus was fourth at districts last fall before placing 37th at states. Look for the senior to supply a good challenge to Conboy up front. Dalton's teammate Abby Heilenman also qualified for states last season and would surely like a return trip.

Easton Area is a team looking to for another trip to Hershey as a team and it will rely on a deep squad, which should have a number of girls near the top ten. Lauren Maddison was eighth last season and expects to be in the mix for a third straight top ten finish. Skyler Danley, Mackenzie Heintz, and Mikayla Roach will be ones to watch.

Nazareth Area's Alysse Danyi was a breakthrough performer last season, taking seventh in the district in her first year of XC. She could make even more of an impact this season. Southern Lehigh's Jenna Groeber is coming off an impressive freshman season, where she was her team's top girl at districts and qualified for states. Stroudsburg's Taylor Garrett, a key to last year's district champion team, will look to cut into the gap to Conboy.
