Individuals Breakdown: District 11 Boys

D11-AA Boys - Individuals Breakdown

Saucon Valley's Ethan Bernstein made some big strides heading into his junior season and walked away as the District 11 champion in AA last fall. He posted some nice PRs on the track this past spring, so we can look for Bernstein to be favored for a repeat in District 11. We could also look for Bernstein to get in the mix for a medal at states, which he missed out on last year.

There are some hungry returners in D11, though. In fact, the entire top eight from the district meet last year will return this season. Notre Dame-Green Pond's John Koons did get a medal last fall. Koons, a rising junior, was 25th at Hershey last fall. Koons should gove Bernstein a good run for the individual title. Anthony Pacchioli is another Crusader who is back. NDGP should have a strong squad this season and those two will be relied on.

Northwestern Lehigh returns a pair of state qualifiers from last season. Robert Leiser ended up 48th at states after taking third in the district. Phillip Castrine took 78th at states. He was fifth at districts. Both will be looking to improve upon those finishes this season.

Another team with some strong returners up front is North Schuylkill. Sean McCabe and Matt McCormick are both back for more. McCabe led NS last season throughout the postseason, which included a fourth place finish at districts and a 56th place finish at states.

Palisades' Dylan McNichol raced sparingly last season, but the rising senior was seventh at districts last season and could be a factor again this year.

While Bernstein is gunning for a repeat win, he has lots of veterans hoping to take him down.
